Once upon a time in a far off land there was a family searching for a new best friend. I had owned a Border colllie when I first met Michael. We were now married with 2 small children and had not long lost my four legged best friend "Chip"
We had agreed that it was time to think of owning another dog. Both of us were working. I worked from home but had the 2 kids to look after while Michael was at work. So another working breed was out of the quetion. It wouldn't be fair if we could not provide enough exercise for the dog. I'd had terries in the past but both Terriers and collies I felt were not the best type of dogs to have around young children, while they can be great with kids they can also be nippy too.
The search went on for the right breed. Being involved in everything to do with dogs since I was 7 years old I had been drawn to the larger breeds and was impressed by their gentle nature and calmness. I had only ever seen 1 Dogue before until a friend had just adopted a male pup. We were blown away by thier gentleness and the friendliness they showed to people esecially children. We did a fair bit of research into the breed although it was hard to find a lot of information.
And so it was that we found a breeder not to far away from where we lived in the UK and met thier Dogue family and placed our name on the waiting list.
When "Sasha" was in pup. We counted down the weeks until on 29th June 2005 6 healthy pups were born. We were lucky enough to have the pick of the litter and sowe picked our boy " Maximilien Centurian" as he was named by Louise and Gary the breeders. His pet name was "Smirnoff" or as he became known "Noffi" to us.
That was the begining of the story that we carried on here is Queensland. It seems like a different life time now we look back.
In April 2007 we boarded a flight from Birmingham UK and got off here in Queensland. Noffi had had all his blood tests and arrived in Australia 2 weeks before us but was still in quarentine.
